Wallpaper Inspiration

I'll be the first to admit that I despise wallpaper. After being forced to both put it up and remove it, I can say with conviction that the stuff is a major PITA. And, a majority of the time it's not even that pretty.

I have learned a bit since then, fellow grasshoppers.

Now, I'm not saying that the first paragraph isn't true - it is a PITA to put up and remove. However, my limited exposure to wallpaper has been in older homes or during the 90's, when it was cheesy and looked and smelled like a crazy old lady's house.

Recently wallpaper has been going through a bit of a renaissance. A lot of patterns have been modernized and look fantastic. Also, an accent wall or a section of the wall is often being used in lieu of the entire room - that way there can be an attractive focal point without overwhelming a space. A bonus: whoever moves in after you won't hate you (too) much!

I've been toying with the idea of putting an accent wall in either the guest bathroom (aka Owen's bathroom) or the office in our house. Some patterns/ideas I'm digging:

Stickwood Wall Covering, $300, Anthropologie

Blazing Poppies Wallpaper, $148, Anthropologie

Anopura Wallpaper, Price unknown, Osborne & Little

Leonor Wallpaper, Price Unknown, Osborne & Little

Succulent - Red (Coral) Wallpaper, $200, Walnut Wallpaper

Anyone else have a recent positive experience with wallpaper? Any pattern suggestions?
